This year’s Expo was the 3rd Transport and Heavy Equipment Expo and by all accounts was extremely successful for MTD.
Some of the facts and figures to date from THE Expo 2013 organisers:-
- Online Pre-Registration resulted in over 6000 industry registrations prior to the gates opening at 9am on the Thursday morning.
- The Numbers through the gates – THE Expo had 7500 visitors during the first two days of the event, with the final show day welcoming just over 6000 through the gates. This brought the total attendance number to 13,464.
- The organisers of the Expo thought that the exhibition site designs created throughout THE Expo were outstanding.
80 trucks participating Show ‘n’ Shine on the Saturday, with Scott Young and his Mack Cruiseliner taking out the Supreme Award!
‘The 1984 vehicle was the first 8-wheeler Mack Cruiseliner in the country and is still owned by the original owner, Scott’s father. “She’s only ever carried carrots, potatoes and the occasional tractor but is pretty much retired now and just does trips from the field to the packhouse,” said Scott.’
The weather was extremely hot, but we didn’t get any wind or rain thank goodness. Because to the heat we gave away over 900 bottles of cold water labelled with the 3 brands. Great idea, really appreciated by the visitors. The site was had a steady flow of people who appreciated the shade of our marquee, the coffee and to have a chat with knowledgeable staff. The merchandise tent had a steady stream of customers, taking away many Mack singlet’s & hats, CD’s, Volvo caps & models, & Renault caps & beanies. No umbrella’s sold strangely enough.
Planning started for 2017!!!
